Dorothy (nee May) Ferraro, 87, of Hamburg, died Jan. 18.

She was the wife of the late Joseph Ferraro; mother of Helen and Paul (Andrea) Ferraro; sister of Mary Martin, Anna Lyons, Lorraine Fierle and the late Conrad May Jr.; grandmother of Carol, Eric, Christopher, Jennifer, Maria and Alison; great-grandmother of Luke, Donovan, Kylie, Shaun and Taylor.

Visitation was held from the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home Inc.

A Mass of Christian burial was held from Saints Peter & Paul Church of Hamburg on Jan. 21.

Zora Galster

Zora (nee Knezevic) Galster, 83, of Hamburg died Jan. 26.

She retired from OLV Basilica as a house cleaner.

She was the wife of the late Donald; mother of Patricia (Michael) Antonik, Donald (Lucy) and Diane (Ron) Kozlowski; grandmother of six and great-grandmother of four; sister of Nick (Mary Anne) Knezevic and the late Michael (late Marion) Knezevic, Desa (late Jack) Kramer and Peter (Linda) Knezevic.

Visitation was held from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home’s Blasdell/Lackawanna Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial was held from Our Lady of Victory Basilica. Interment was in Lakeside Memorial Cemetery.

Clifford Garlow

Clifford Garlow, 67, of the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, died Jan. 25.

He was the husband of Cheryl (nee Bennett) Garlow; father of Heath (Azalia), Jessie, Dallas (Nancy), Brent (Jaczueline), Cody Garlow II and Kevin (Elaine) Brooks; grandfather of nine; brother of Robert (Bernice) Garlow and Doris Hubert Hill; also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation and a funeral service were held from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation.

Arrangements were made by the Wentland Funeral Home of North Collins.

Jeanette Gresko
Jeanette Gresko

Jeanette Gresko, 69, of Angola died on Jan. 24, after a battle with cervical cancer.

She was a legal secretary for the Buffalo Sheriff’s Office. She was later a home health care aide for Mercy Home Care. She retired after 20 years, and cared for her husband Patrick, who had advanced Parkinson’s disease, until his death three months ago.

She was the wife of the late Patrick Gresko; mother of John and Steven Gresko; sister of Marylyn (Robert) Weyand; aunt of Jeanie, Julie, Jeffery, Joe, Henry and Larry; also survived by many friends, Bernadette (Gary) Huff and Kathy Smith.

Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. on Jan. 30 from the Addison Funeral Home Inc., located at 262 N. Main St. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Jan. 31.

Charlene Groebe

Charlene Groebe, 66, of Cheektowaga, died in Hamburg on Jan. 24. She was born Jan. 8, 1948 in Buffalo to Charles and Ida Mae (nee Hendrix) Carey.

She read and spent time with family members, friends and animals.

She was the wife of Ross Cadby; mother of Carey (Zachary) Hudson; stepmother of Brandon (Jessica) Cadby and Sean (Karou) Cadby; sister of Donna Herbert, Sheryl (Hans) Thiel and Deborah (Robert) Barton; grandmother of seven.

Jeffrey Krauss
Jeffrey Krauss

Jeffrey Krauss, 56, of North Collins died Jan. 22.

He was the former co-owner of the Langford Hotel, a town councilman for North Collins, a licensed insurance agent, Democratic Committee chairman for North Collins, member of the Fraternal Order of Masons, former member of the United States Air Force and a lifelong resident of North Collins. He was also a member of a pool league.

He was the husband of Cynthia (nee Bailey) Krauss; son of the late Chester Krauss and Maureen Kelly; brother of Wayne (Lorissa) Krauss; uncle of Marina Krauss; also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his Labrador Alice.

Visitation was held from the Wentland Funeral Home of North Collins. A memorial Mass was held from Holy Spirit Church of North Collins.

Brian Lewandowski
Brian Lewandowski, 62, of Blasdell died Jan. 23.

He was a member of Amvets Post No. 897 and was an American Legion Erie County adjutant. He retired from the United States Air Force as a master sergeant.

He was the father of Heather Lewandowski, Amy (Chris) Evaldi and Katie (Nicholas) Wall; brother of Melanie (Chuck) Marsillo, Patty (Jay) Caputo and Peter (Jan) Lewandowski.

Visitation and a funeral service were held from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home’s Blasdell/Lackawanna Chapel.

Thomas LoBello, 25, of Angola, died at home on Jan. 19.

He was the son of Josephine (late Edward) Vail; brother of Edward, Mikey, Donald, Candis, Gracie, Julie and Marie Vail; godson of Michael Vail and Michelle Rivera.

Laura (nee Alimonti) Mazzetti, 88, of Derby died Jan. 26. She was born May 10, 1925 to Vincent and Rose (nee Dragonette) Alimonti.

She gardened and canned vegetables. She also grew flowers, especially roses. She cooked, baked and spent time with her family.

She was the wife of Aldo Mazzetti; mother of Judy (Gary) Almond, Jerry (Beverly), Laurie (Kyle) Roche’ and the late James (Sharon); sister of Andrew (Rose), Katherine (late Branko) Schiffer and the late Eugene (Rose), Mary (Chester) Beres, Teresa (Gino) Mazzetti, Junelle (Gerry) and Joe (Matilda); grandmother of Joshua (Megan), Dr. Jed (Dr. Megan), Hayley, Dylan, Nick, Mark, Lisa (Chris) and Jennifer (Jay); great-grandmother of Ben, Hannah, Isaac, Luke,

Katie, Alex, Elleri, Cole and Allison.

Cheryl Morrison, 47, of Angola died Jan. 27 in the Absolut of Eden Nursing Facility.

She was the daughter of the late James Morrison Sr. and Gloria Morrison; sister of Rick (Joanne), Nancy, Allan, Michael, Joseph, Rachael, Jeannie Morrison, Linda Farthing, Debbie Rhinehart, Michelle (Bill) Davis and the late Barbara, Tina, Allison Morrison, Verna Flora and Loretta Cummings; also survived by nieces and nephews.

Josephine Notaro

Josephine (nee Janik) Notaro, 92, formerly of North Collins and Brant, died Jan. 29 in Hospice of Cincinnati in Ohio.

She was the wife of the late Thomas Notaro; mother of Arline (Anthony) Danial, Joanne (Gary) Jaworek and Margaret (Ronald) Brennan; grandmother of Julia (Tony) Thompson, Jonathan, Joseph Danial, Thomas Jaworek, Jacqueline (David) Berning, Olivia, Meredith and Jillian Jaworek; great-grandmother of Aubrey Thompson; sister of Bernice (Stephen) Twarozek, Victoria (Henry) Daniels, Maryanne (David) Probst, the late Sophie (Fred) Blasz, Donald Janik, the late Francis and Henry Janik; sister-in-law of Bertha, Phyllis, Frances Notaro and the late Nina (Jerry) Faltus.

Florence Quinn

Florence “Flo” (nee Palmer) Quinn of Blasdell died Jan. 20.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 1311, Blasdell Seniors, Scranton Club and Hamburg Golf League. She danced and golfed with her husband, played Bingo, created art and spent time with her family members and friends.

She was the wife of the late Hugh Quinn Jr.; mother of Patrick (Sandra) Quinn and Debra (Scott) Nurmi; grandmother of Daniel, Andrew and Ryan; sister of Nelson (Sharon) Palmer and the late Dolores (Fran) Doell and Robert (late Mary Lou) Palmer; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home’s Hamburg Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial was held from Our Mother of Good Counsel Church.

Interment was in Lakeside Memorial Cemetery.

Dolores Schwartz
Dolores (nee Rybacki) Schwartz, 87, formerly of Hamburg and West Seneca, died Dec. 14 in Dunedin, Fla.

She was the wife of the late Norman Schwartz; mother of Sandra Balog and Sally McInerney of Dunedin, Fla.; sister-in-law of Alice Dingeldey; also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held in Florida. She will be buried in Bath, N.Y. in the Veteran's Cemetery beside her husband.

Mary Juanita Zebron
Mary Juanita Zebron

Sister Mary Juanita Zebron, 90, died Jan. 23 in the Colette Hilbert Care Community.

She was born Angela Elizabeth Zebron on Aug. 7, 1923 in Baltimore, Md. to the late Joseph and the Jennie (nee Popera).

She entered the congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Saint Joseph as an aspirant in 1938. She became a postulant in 1941 and professed her final vows on July 23, 1946.

She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Holy Family College in Torresdale, Pa.

She ministered in the field of education at Saint Stanislaus in Chelsea, Mass.; Saint Anthony in Fairfield, Conn.; Saint Stephen in Shamokin, Pa.; Holy Trinity in Westfield, Mass.; Holy Cross in Fall River, Mass.; Saint Michael in Lynn, Mass.; Mater Dolorosa in Holyoke, Mass. and Saint Stanislaus in Baltimore, for 50 years. In 2005, she joined the Sisters in the Colette Hilbert Care Community.

In Baltimore, she brought the Eucharist to the elderly. After she retired to the care community, she participated in the weekly activities spent time with Michele, the activities director.

She was predeceased by her sister, Sister Martiana FSSJ, who died on Sept. 14, 1982. Also survived by her brothers Anthony, Bernard, Francis (Ruth) and the Rev. Samuel, OFM Conv, and nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A wake and memorial service were held from Immaculate Conception Convent in Hamburg. A Mass of Christian burial was held in the convent chapel on Jan. 25. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Baltimore.

Memorials may be made to the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph.
