Obituaries for the week of July 18

Radu Mircea Iliescu Constantine M.D. A memorial service was held Saturday (July 13) at the S.S. Peter & Paul Church for Radu Mircea Iliescu Constantine, M.D., of Hamburg, who died Wednesday, July 3, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Cochrane); children, Annabella (Peter) Schlee and Radu Constantine; grandchildren, Myah, Noah, and Sidney; nephews, Serge, Michel, and George; also by other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mihai, Adina, and Costina. Rodric served in the Romanian Navy as a Navigation Officer during WWII. He received his Medical Doctorate Degree in Bucharest, Romania. Having practiced medicine in England, France and served with the French Military Mission in West Africa, then resided in Montreal Canada where he received his Master of Surgery at McGill University. He served in the Canadian Coast Guard as a Medical Officer during the 1960s and was a Physician for the Department of Indian Affairs of Canada in Dawson City, Yukon. In 1973, Rodric and his family came to Buffalo where he accepted a position at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He volunteered as a Medical Officer for the Royal Canadian Air Force Cadets in Fort Erie, Ontario and the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corp. U.S.S. Sullivans in Buffalo. Mark J. Stockman A memorial service was held Wednesday (July 10) at the Lakeside Funeral Home for Mark J. Stockman, of Lake View, who died Thursday, July 4, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Kelly (Morford); children, Christopher, Maggie and Mathew; siblings, Barbara (Mark) Manley, Kathryn (John) Ryan, Paul (Jane), Albert (Kristen Chilcott), Michael (Sita) and John (Angela) Stockman; also by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. John N. Reynolds Services were held on Saturday (July 13) at Our Lady of Charity Parish for John N. Reynolds, 58, of Hamburg, who died on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Christine (Lail); siblings, Patrick and Michael Reynolds; siblings-in-law, Linda Evans, Marysue Rogers, Johnathan; also by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Morris and Mary Reynolds; brother-in-law, William Lail. Mr. Reynolds was the recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal and a member of the National Association of Purchasing Management. He was a purchasing manager for Prince Rubber and Plastics. Bernice S. Sudyn
A memorial service was held Monday (July 15) at the Colonial Memorial Chapels for Bernice S. (Samardak) Sudyn, of Hamburg, who died Saturday, July 6, 2013.
She is survived by her children, Stephen P. (Beverly), Michael J. (Diana), Karen A. (Robert) Christmann and Mark (Donna); siblings, Helen (Eugene) Dziedzina, and Stephanie (late Edward) Kruger; four grandchildren and also by nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen; siblings, Ann (late Anthony) Moisiewicz, Peter (late Loraine) and Alice (late Philip) Avino.

Services will be held for Beverly A. (Donnellan) Cozzo, 78, of Angola who died Friday, July 12, 2013.

Kathryn Hamberger
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday (July 15) at the Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Langford for Kathryn (Bantle) Hamberger, 84, of North Collins, who died on Friday, July 12, 2013.
She is survived by her son, Craig Hamberger; siblings, Norma (late Robert) Johengen, Margaret (Leonard) Muehlbauer; sister-in-law, Rosalie Bantle.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elroy J. Hamberger, daughter, Krista Hamberger; parents, Paul and Bessie Bantle; siblings, Herbert Bantle and Marie (Ralph) Spangenberger.
Mrs. Hamberger was born on March 15, 1929.

Richard G. Chudzik
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday (July 17) at St. Francis of Assisi Church for Richard G. Chudzik, 80, of Hamburg who died Friday, July 12, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Laemmerhirt); children, Richard (Patty), Darlene Park and Michele Patterson; step-children Carol (Dr. Mark) Machuga and Ronald Gabel; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Grabowski) Chudzik; siblings, Julia Chojnacki, Stephen Hudzik, Helen Milosich, Stanley Chudzik, John Chudzik, Molly Rogacki, Florence Bolibrzuch and Henry Chudzik.
Mr. Chudzik retired from Bethlehem Steel as a Grade A Machinist.

Eunice Studley
Private services were held for Eunice (Bolander) Studley, 92, of Collins Center, formerly of Hamburg, who died Friday, June 28, 2013.
She is survived by her nephews, Richard (Mary), and Daniel (Schunk); also by several great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Studley; sibling, Bernice (late Henry E.) Schunk; and niece Gladys Sibley.
She was a postal clerk at the former Gowanda State Hospital.
Final resting place in St. Martin’s Cemetery, Langford.

Eleanor Gier
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday (July 15) at the Holy Spirit Church in North Collins for Eleanor (Catalano) Gier, 79, of Brant, who died on Friday, July 12, 2013.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Terri), Joseph (Jeanette), David (Evelyn), Dale (Kim) Gier, Beth (Domenic) Nicotera and Brad (Brownie) Gier; siblings, Joseph (Helen), Anthony (Josie) Catalano, Dorothy (John) Renaldo, Shirley (Dan) Podlewski, Irene Chiavetta (John); brother-in-law, George (late Tillie) Johengen; and 12 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Gier; sister, Dolly (Sam) Giglia.
Mrs. Gier was born on June 28, 1934.

Robert C. Metzger Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Most Precious Blood Church for Robert C. Metzger Sr., of Angola who died on Monday, July 8, 2013.
He is survived by his children, Loraine (Frank) Bennett, Noreen (Vince) Ippolito, Teresa Metzger, Catherine (Michael) Bailey, Robert C. (Sherri) Metzger Jr., Margaret (Timothy) Dutcher, Elizabeth (Michael) Morath and Rita (Wil) Baumann; siblings, Judith (Edward) Wolmuth, Marjorie (late Doug) Stock, Martin J. (Debbie) Metzger, Susan (Michael) Swagler and Joseph (Katherine) Metzger; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Noreen Metzger.

George W. Hengerer
A celebration of life party for family and firneds will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 20 at The Vero Beach Elks Lodge for George W. Hengerer, 88, of Florida, formerly of Buffalo, who died on Firday, July 5, 2013.
He is survived by his children, Ellen Wollschlager, Daniel Hengerer, Philip Hengerer and Raymond Hengerer.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia E. Hengerer.
Mr. Hengerer was born December 4, 1924. He was a WWII Army Veteran as well as Past Commander of The American Legion Post 527 in Hamburg. In 1984, he retired after a 37 year career with New York Telephone Company; he had resided in Vero Beach since then.
He was active in the Vero Beach Elks Lodge No.1774 as a former house committee chairman.
Final resting place is The Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

Paul J. Reinhard
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 26 at the Wentland Funeral Home for Paul J. Reinhard, 87, of Eden, who died on Friday, May 17, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Reinhard; children, David, Alan (Terri) and Donald (Kathy) Lahrs; sibling, James (Kathy) Reinhard; sister-in-law, Phyllis Reinhard; also by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Edward Reinhard.
Mr. Reinhard was born on July 26, 1925.
