Betsy (nee McSkimming) Cooper of Blasdell died Feb. 21.

She was the wife of Donald Cooper; mother of Wayne (Sandy), David and the late Donald Cooper; grandmother of Nicolette, Jeremy and Shannon; daughter of the late James and Bessie McSkimming; sister of the late James (late Margaret), Thomas (late Margaret) and Campbell (late Margaret) McSkimming; friend of Theresa, Tammy, Darlene and Anne; also survived by other family members and friends.

Gerald Gerbracht
Gerald Gerbracht

Gerald Gerbracht, 81, of Hamburg died Feb. 22.

He retired from the Hamburg School District as the assistant superintendent of business.

He was the husband of the late Catherine Jane (nee Sirface); father of David (Ann Marie) and Nancy (Sharon); grandfather of Sarah and Gerald; brother of the late Robert (Joan) and Carlton (late Madeline).

Visitation and a funeral service were held from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Homeís Hamburg Chapel. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Edward Halady
Edward Halady, 85, died Feb. 18.

He retired as vice president of Joseph Davis Inc., after a 43-year career. He was a member of the Saints Peter & Paul Athletic Club.

He was the husband of Eugenia (nee Klubek) Halady; father of Patricia (Serge Lossa) Emanuel, Diane (Larry) Pepero, Geraldine (Gregory) Bebernitz, Edward (Valerie) Halady, Christine (Shawn Day) Carpenter, Theresa Hull and David (Molly) Halady; grandfather of nine; brother of Mary (late Felix) Cizdziel.

Visitation was held from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Homeís Blasdell/Lackawanna Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial was held from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Eleanor Krieger
Eleanor (nee Polchlopek) Krieger of Hamburg died Feb. 13.

She was the wife of John Krieger; mother of Linda (Bruce) Chittick, Deborah (Patrick) Murphy and Donna (Timothy) Zimmer; grandmother of Robin, Ryan, Kevin, Kelly, Isabelle and Dominik; great-grandmother of Alice Josephine.

A Mass of Christian burial was held from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church of Orchard Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo Inc. Arrangements were made by the Loomis, Offers & Loomis Inc. Hamburg Chapel.

Norma Monckton
Norma (nee Shadle) Monckton of Hamburg died Feb. 21.

She was a member of Saint James United Church of Christ, where she served on several committees. She was also a member of the Servers at Saint James and the church choir.  She worked with her husband at their snowmobile and motorcycle shop, Moncktons Service, before working for 23 years at the Hamburg PennySaver.

She was the wife of 60 years of Robert Monckton; mother of Russell (Lynda), Rebecca (Ken) King and Brian (Vicki); grandmother of Sean, Jamie, Jeremy, Jessica (Frank), Robyn, Allison, Corey, Greg and Dan; sister of Joan (Bill) Giesler, Bill and Peter (Ro) Shadle and the late Robert Shadle.  

A memorial service was held from the St. James United Church of Christ in Hamburg.

Memorials in Norma Moncktonís name may be made to the Servers at St. James.  

Angelo Del Monaco
Angelo Del Monaco of Hamburg died Feb. 17.

He was the fiance of Colleen Grande-Militello; stepfather of John Grande, Nicholas (Amanda) Militello and James Militello; grandfather of Hailey and Dominic Militello; son of Carmine and the late Josephine (nee Suffaletta) Del Monaco; brother of Gaetano (Josephine) Del Monaco and Mario (Kim) Del Monaco; friend of Cody and C.J.; also survived by other family members and friends.

Visitation was held from the Lombardo Funeral Homeís Southtowns Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial was held from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church of Orchard Park. Entombment was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Byron Nelson of North Collins died Feb. 19.

He was the husband of Annette (nee Williams) Nelson; father of Douglas (Jessica) Novoa and Cynthia Nelson; son of Ronald and Paula (nee Stifler) Nelson; brother of Scott (Anne) Nelson and Keith Nelson; also survived by other family members and friends.

Mary (nee Gregory) Papiernik of Hamburg died Feb. 16.

She was a high priestess of Ailiamsi Court No. 12, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America.

She was the wife of the late Edmond Papiernik; mother of Ann Pascarella and William Papiernik; daughter of the late William and Lovedy Gregory; also survived by other family members and friends.

Visitation and a funeral service were held from the Lombardo Funeral Home. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery.

Marie Peters

Marie Peters, 85, of Hamburg died Feb. 17.

She was a bookkeeper at the former Liberty Bank in Buffalo.

She was the sister of Marian (George) Kohl, William (Geraldine) Peters, Suzanna (John) Hunter and the late Lee and Richard Peters; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A private funeral service will be held, at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Saint Martinís Cemetery in Langford.

Mark Prusak, 60, of Hamburg died Feb. 22.

He was a supervisory investigator with the United States Food and Drug Administration Import Operations Branch. He was a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia and was a fisherman, outdoorsman and gardener.

He was the husband of Nancy (nee Missel) Prusak; brother of Daniel Prusak; son of the late Frank Prusak and late Eileen (nee Smolarek) Prusak; son-in-law of Robert and Doris Missel; brother-in-law of Ronald Missel, Gerald (Linda) Missel, Lynn (Richard) Przywara, Thomas (Nicole) Missel and the late Scott Missel; nephew of Jeanette (late Edmund) Smolarek; cousin of Terry (Jeff) Adrian and Tom Smolarek; friend of Dan, Jeff, Dan, Roger, Tom and Paul and their spouses; also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation was held from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Homeís Hamburg Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial was held from Saint Francis of Assisi Church. Entombment was in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Cindy (nee DuBois) Plumer of Hamburg died Feb. 21.

She was the wife of Stephen Plumer; mother of Jamie and Richard (Stephanie Conrad) Hinton, Christopher, Dolores and Carla Plumer; sister of Brian (Tracey), Rick (Kim), Dean (Julie), Dale (DeeDee) and Gene (Danna) DuBois; also survived by 12 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her dog, Lily.

Visitation and a funeral service were held from the Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home Inc. of Hamburg.

Phyllis Reinhard
Phyllis (nee Bragg) Reinhard, 83, of Eden died Feb. 16.

She was the wife of the late Edward Reinhard; mother of Jeffrey, Michael (Susan Brecker) Reinhard, David (Melanie Klice) Reinhard and the late Patricia Guzzetta; grandmother of Stacy, Serena and four other grandchildren; great-grandmother of eight; sister of Jan Darzewski, Sharon Hawley and the late Harold and Dean Bragg; sister-in-law of Ruth Reinhard.

A memorial Mass was held from Immaculate Conception Church of Eden. Arrangements were made by the Wentland Funeral Home of North Collins.
