Charles W. Rogers, 99, of Fort McCoy, Fla., formerly of West Valley and Collins, died Jan. 19.
Mr. Rogers helped construct many roads, bridges and schools throughout Cattaraugus County. He was a crane operator for General Motors Corporation in Buffalo, worked for the Case Tractor Company in Collins, and retired from the Gowanda School system in Collins as maintenance manager and head custodian. He was also a house painter and electrician in Collins. He was a World War II veteran.
He was the husband of the late Myrtle (nee Hansen) Rogers; father of Lyle (Sharon) Rogers, Gary (Terry) Rogers, Mary (Ronald) Harris, Leslie (Darlene) Rogers, Cindy (Jim) Leonard and the late Gregory Rogers; also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. from the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, located at 271 East Main St. in Springville.
