Sister Joan Marie Kwiatkowski, 99, died Dec. 20 in the Colette Hilbert Care Community.
She was born in Milwaukee, Wis. to the late Marcel and the late Josephine (nee Konieczka). On July 28, 1930, she entered the congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Saint Joseph as a postulant. She professed her final vows in 1935.
She entered the teacher training program at Holy Family College in Philadelphia, Pa., before transferring to Marywood College in Scranton, Pa., where she received a bachelor’s degree in education.
She was involved in education for 63 years, at Saint Hedwig in Detroit, Mich.; Corpus Christi in Buffalo; Queen of Angels in Detroit; Saint Hyacinth in Auburn, N.Y.; Saint Stephen in Shamokin, Pa.; Saint Josaphat in Milwaukee; Queen of Rosary in Kenosha, Wis.; Saint Casimir in Baltimore, Md.; Holy Rosary of Pompeii, in Kenosha, Wis.; Mater Dolorosa in Holyoke, Mass. and Saint Sebastian in Dearborn Heights, Mich., where she was also the school librarian, for several years.
She was principal at Saint Stanislaus in Trenton, N.J.; St. Stanislaus in Kewanee, Ill.; Sacred Heart in Danbury, Conn. and Saint Charles Borromeo in Milwaukee. She later joined the sisters in the Colette Hilbert Care Community.
She is survived by a nephew, Thomas Flowers.
A wake and memorial service were held from the Immaculate Conception Convent of Hamburg. A Mass of Christian burial was held in the convent chapel. Burial was at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery in Cheektowaga.

Robert MacLaughlin, 72, of Hamburg died Dec. 19.
He was a retired electrician from American Axel.
He was the husband of Catherine (nee Sabuda) MacLaughlin; father of Suzanne (Richard) Sheridan, Scott MacLaughlin and Julie Anne (James) Devine; grandfather of Owen and Andrew Devine, Nicholas and Olivia Sheridan; brother of Terry (Diane) MacLaughlin and the late Beverly Jiuditta and Gary (Elaine) MacLaughlin.
Visitation was held from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home’s Hamburg Chapel. A funeral service was held from the Trinity Episcopal Church of Hamburg.

Marilyn (nee Barry) McDonnell of Blasdell died Dec. 15.
She was the wife of the late Edward McDonnell; mother of James McDonnell, Timothy McDonnell, Thomas (Marie) McDonnell, Brian McDonnell and Laura (Kevin) Koralewski; grandmother of Kevin, Mary, Sarah, Jennifer and Mitchell; daughter of the late James and Celia Barry; sister of James (Irma) Barry and the late Richard Barry; also survived by other family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial was held from Our Mother of Good Counsel Church of Blasdell.

He served in the United States Army.
He was the husband of the late Mary (nee Jarzynska) Reinard; father of Michael, Cheryl Kopciowski, Rosemary Work, Sandra Hauser and Peter Reinard; grandfather of 13, great-grandfather of 17 and great-great-grandfather of two; son of the late John and Ellen Reinard; brother of Ellen (late David) Young, Robert, Andrew (Margaret) and Marian (Thomas) Mentlewicz; also survived by other family members and friends.

Frank Sigeti of Lake View died Dec. 16.
He was a World War II veteran.
He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Prinzbach); father of Mark (Jacquie), Carol (Thomas) LaBelle, Paul (Becky), Annmarie (Joseph) Winterbotham and Anthony (Laura) Sigeti; grandfather of 15 grandchildren; great-grandfather of 14; brother of Nicholas (Eleanor) Sigeti and Rosemary (Joseph) Sliz; predeceased by 11 siblings; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Jan. 6 from the Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home Inc. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7 from Blessed John Paul II Church of Lake View. Assemble at the church.
