Joseph Borer
Joseph L. Borer of West Valley died Monday, Feb. 20 at Absolut of Houghton Nursing Home.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army and served in World War II from 1943-45. He attended St. John the Baptist Church in West Valley.
He was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion of West Valley and the VFW. He was also a blood donor. After he attended 2 1/2 years of college, he was an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 27 years and a machine operator for the U.S. Post Office in Buffalo.
He was the husband of 58 years of Shirley (nee Bender) Borer. Son of Arnold Sr. and Emma (nee Schaad) Borer. Survived by his children, Dr. Mark (Carol Bugglin) Borer of Delaware and Cheryl (Joseph) Doll of West Valley; grandchildren Kira and Kelly Doll, Kristine (Marc) Dickinson, Eric, Brett, Leona and Gwendolyn Borer; brothers John (late Virginia) and Ernie (Barbara) Borer; sister-in-law Gertrude Borer; nephew Jack Borer and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Arnold Jr. and Werner Borer.
The funeral was held Feb. 22 at St. John the Baptist Church in West Valley. The Reverend Lawrence Cobel officiated. Burial was in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, West Valley.

Charles John Crist of Sun City Grand, Surprise, Ariz., formerly of Orchard Park, passed away Feb. 9.
Charlie was a 1951 graduate of Springville-Griffith Institute High School and then graduated from Alfred State in 1954 with an associate degree. He later served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1957.
Charlie was the husband of Carol (deceased 2009). The couple moved to Arizona in 2007 to be closer to their daughters in the West. He was the father of Cheryl of Phoenix, Ariz. and Cathleen and Carolyn, both of California; grandfather of Trevor, Taylor, Maximillian, Giorgio and Dante.
At the time of his death, he was also in the company of his friend and caregiver, Florine Zaccardo of Langford, N.Y.
Charlie’s body was donated to the Science Care Research in Phoenix, Ariz. A funeral mass will be held in Surprise, Ariz. on March 23.
Kimberly Noble
Dr. Kimberly A. Noble (nee Leavitt) of Boston, Feb. 12; wife of Matthew R. Noble; daughter of Cynthia Herg-Leavitt (James Thompson) and Terry Leavitt; sister of Christopher Leavitt, Ryan (Kristin) Leavitt and Todd (Lisa) Leavitt; daughter-in-law of Christian and Janet Mae (Johnston) Noble; sister-in-law of Jennifer (William) Dunlap, Christie (Christopher Wilson) Noble, Julie (Alex) Soto, Phillip and Tracey Noble; aunt of Hailey and Carter Leavitt, Joseph and Jason Dunlap and Alexander Soto; also survived by many other family members and friends. Paul M. Nunweiler, 24, of Springville, passed away at home on Feb. 14.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Church, a life member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the Gowanda Country Club, loved all sports and played golf at the Springville Country Club.
He was a 2007 graduate of Springville-Griffith Institute and was employed by Horschel Brothers Precision.
He was the husband of four months of Nanci (nee Horschel) Nunweiler; son of Paul and Julie (nee Dearborn) Nunweiler; brother of Joseph Nunweiler; grandson of Agnes Dearborn of Springville and the late Gilbert Dearborn and the late Francis and Joan Nunweiler; son-in-law of Cheryl and Louis Horschel of Springville; brother-in-law of Traci (Weston Steiner) Horschel, Kelli (Jody) Smith, Josh and Hawk Horschel; also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, Feb. 18 from St. Aloysius Church. The Reverend Lawrence Cobel officiated. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springville.

Stephanie O’Connor
Stephanie (nee McCormick) O’Connor of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Colden, died Feb. 15 in Gulf Breeze Hospital. She was 63. She is survived by her husband, Cameron H. O’Connor; father Richard B. (Lindy K. Korn) McCormick and sisters Elizabeth (Steven) Scalia, Caitlin (William) Gillmeister, Rebecca McCormick-Boyle and Rachel (Dale) Hazen. She was predeceased by her mother, Stephanie Jewett McCormick; her brother, Richard B. (Pamela) McCormick, M.D. and her brother-in-law, Carey T. Boyle. A funeral mass was celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze. Burial will be in Griffin Mills Cemetery. Flowers declined.

John “Jack” Vanderlip, Feb. 13. Husband of the late Mary Alice (nee Walsh); father of Vincent (Colleen) Vanderlip and Colleen (Michael) McNatty; grandfather of Madison, Grace, Conor and Ryan Vanderlip and Maeve McNatty; son of the late Geraldine (O’Connor) Deet; brother of Thomas Vanderlip and Kevin Deet. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Feb. 16 at St. John Vianney Church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Hospice of Buffalo.
