Donald Bodekor of Hamburg died Jan. 8.

He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 17.

He was the husband of Bonnie (nee Elliott); father of Jay (Sue) Adams, Donald (Nancy), David (Lori) and Keith (Ginnie) Bodekor; brother of Norman, Beverly (the Rev. Arvid) Whitmore and Jacqueline Curtis; also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from the Loomis, Offers & Loomis Inc.’s Hamburg Chapel.

Karen Hale
Karen Hale, 51, of Silver Creak, formerly of North Collins, died Jan. 8.

She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Betty June (nee Portbury) Hale; sister of Ronald (Karlien) Fischer, Linda (Gary) Blasio, Susan (George) Taber, Sharon (Ken) Kuzia, Carolyn (Randy) Neubeck, Steven, Kevin Hale, Beverly (Ibrahim) Riyashi, Kimberly, Robert (Patty), David (Becky) and Mikey Hale; also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation and a funeral service were held from the Wentland Funeral Home in North Collins.

Theresa Jachimowicz
Theresa (nee Buczkowski) Jachimowicz, 84, of Hamburg died Dec. 27.

She was a confectioner at Highland House Candies.

She was the wife of Victor Jachimowicz; mother of Robert (Melanie) Jachimowicz, Linda Artusio, Thomas (Madonna) and Ronald (Cindy) Jachimowicz and Sandra (Michael) Lenzi; also survived by 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial was held from Saints Peter & Paul Church.

Sally Kish

Sally (nee Burruano) Kish, 91, of Eden died Jan. 7.

She was the wife of the late Alexander Kish; mother of Alexander (Joyce), Dennis and Jane Kish; friend of Pan Lerminiaux; sister of Josephine Colongelo and the late Tom, Sam and Jim Burruano and Mary Sidoti; grandmother of Danielle (Chris) Wagner, Dayna (Jason) Murphy, Tracey (Jeff) Raczkowski and Gregory Kish; also survived by six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home Inc. and a Mass of Christian burial was held from Saint Bernadette’s Church in Orchard Park.

Burial was held in Saint Vincent Cemetery in North Evans.

Spencer Maltbie

Spencer Maltbie, 79, of Albion, formerly of Angola and Silver Creek, died Jan. 11 in the Cloverhill Adult Home of Albion.

He was the former husband of 18 years of Donna Barrett; father of April (Alan) Lathrop of Medina and Paul (Shari) Maltbie of Angola; brother of Ann (Louis) Small and Carol (late Harold) Maltby; grandfather of Paul Jr., Brad and Johnny.

Visitation was held Jan. 13 from the Addison Funeral Home Inc. in Angola. A funeral was held Jan. 15 from the First Church of Evans in Derby.

Mario Micciche
Mario Micciche, 84, of Crestview, Fla., formerly of North Collins, died Jan. 6.

He was the husband of the late Grace (nee Santa Maria) and Audrey Wisniewski (nee Kite) Micciche; father of Lisa, Michael and Melissa Micciche; stepfather of eight; grandfather of Megan Gillen; brother of Pauline (Richard) Palm; brother-in-law of Marion (nee Santa Maria) Boyer.

A memorial Mass was held Jan. 10 from Holy Spirit Church of North Collins.

Arrangements were made by the Wentland Funeral Home of North Collins.

Elsie Scheufele
Elsie Scheufele of Hamburg died Jan. 4.

She was the wife of the late Richard Castalone; mother of the late Michelle and Melissa; daughter of the late Eugene and Ericka (nee Feirich) Scheufele; sister of Lorretta (Joel) Barnum, Ericka (Richard) Vampotic, Rose Scheufele and the late Anita (late Richard) Dell and the late Eugene (Nadia Scheufele Watson); also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Lombardo Funeral Home on Jan. 15. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 16 at the Wesleyan Church of Hamburg, located at 4999 McKinley Parkway.

Florence Stahl

Florence (nee Jaszcz) Stahl of Hamburg died Jan. 4.

She was the wife of the late Richard “Dick;” sister of Dolores (Anthony) Gutowski and the late Stanley (late Mary); aunt of James (Sandra), Sharon Gutowski and Beverly (David) Jaworek; great-aunt of Megan, Katherine, Derek and Amanda; great-great-aunt of Bryson Anthony Schoppe.

Visitation was held from the Colonial Memorial Chapels of Lackawanna. A Mass of Christian burial was held from Saint Mary of the Lake Church.

John Stevens
John Stevens

John “Jack” Stevens, 92, of Hamburg died Jan. 2.

He served in World War II in Germany with the 82nd Airborne Division and the 325th Infantry Glider Unity. He retired from the Ford Stamping Plant in 1983 and was a member of the Hamburg Council 2220 Knights of Columbus.

He was the husband of the late Ruth (nee Smithmyer) for 71 years; father of Diane Klass, Sue (Robert) Blaszak, Jack, Jeffrey (Lynda) and Brian Stevens; grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 26; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was cared for by Michelle Comstock, Cindy Coccia and Shalise Smith.

A Mass of Christian burial was held from Saints Peter & Paul Church. Visitation was held from the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home Inc.

Memorials may be made to Hospice or Saints Peter & Paul Church. Burial with military honors was in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Ivadel Williams

Ivadel Williams of Springville, formerly of Eden, died Jan. 8.

She was the wife of Vern Walters; mother of Judith Walters, Eric (Linda) Walters and Patrice (Robert Steinmetz) Ferguson; grandmother of four and great-grandmother of five.

Visitation was held from the Laing Funeral Home Inc., located at 2724 W. Church St. in Eden.

A funeral service was held from the Eden United Methodist Church.

Jo Ann White of West Seneca died Jan. 10.

She was the wife of Ronald D’Andrea; mother of Donna (Richard) Liberatore; daughter of the late Harry and Violet White; sister of Patricia Weber, Harry (Marlene), John (Cathy), Ronald (Lynn), Donald (Susan), Robert and Gary (Sue) D’Andrea, Traci (late Larry) D’Andrea-Vezza and the late James, Ann Lorraine and Fern (Pasquale) Fierro; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16 at the Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home Inc., located at 4199 Lake Shore Road at the corner of Route 5 and Camp Road.
