Lancaster Obits for the week of Sunday, Oct. 20

O'NEIL - Trudy M. (nee Derejko) of Braintree, MA, formerly of Lancaster, died at the age of 86 on October 11, 2013. Trudy was an accomplished artist and bridge player. She was a member of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration, the Lancaster Historical Society, the Lancaster Home Bureau, and a charter member of the Lancaster Opera House Guild. She is survived by George E. O'Neil, her loving husband of 64 years; a son, Tim O'Neil (Sandy) of Perry Hall, MD; a daughter, Peggy O'Neil Files (Bill) of Duxbury, MA; five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Relatives and friends were invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday, in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, , South Weymouth, MA. CEFALY - Gloria M. (nee Pongo) of Depew passed away October 11, 2013; beloved wife of the late Ralph; devoted mother of Kevin, Michael and Darryl; loving grandmother of Nicholas, Dustin and John; great-grandmother of Adrianna and Jordan; dear sister of the late Rita (William) Schmidt and Herbert Pongo; also survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation were held in the Cichon Funeral Home Inc., in Depew on Monday, with a funeral service held immediately following visitation. Mrs. Cefaly was an Auxiliary member of F.O.E. No. 2692.

WOJTOWICZ, Lorraine R. (nee Motz) of Lancaster entered into enteral rest October 13, 2013, at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Henry J. Wojtowicz; devoted mother of Gail M. Wojtowicz; sister-in-law of Irene (late Edwin) Wrobel, and the late Steve (Susan), Ed (Genevieve) and Stanley Wojtowicz; cousin of Ruth Wierzbicki, Laverne Bauer and Mary Ann, Donald, Mark, David Wojtowicz and the late Kathy Olewniczak and Michael Wojtowicz; aunt of Patricia Bauer, Christine Gugino, Carol Faulhaber, Mary and Michael Wrobel and Michele Greatbatch; also survived by many other relatives and dear friends. The family was present Tuesday and Wednesday at (Lancaster-Depew Chapel) Amigone Funeral Home, Inc., where prayers were said Thursday morning followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church. Lorraine was a spelling bee champion, in her younger years, she sang in the church choir, and was a member of the Bowmansville Home Bureau and the Buffalo Polka Boosters and enjoyed to travel.

NIEHUS - Robert R. Sr. of Depew passed away October 13, 2013; beloved husband of the late Sandra; loving father of Robin (Tony) Pantaro, Robert Jr.; stepfather of Rich (Linda) Mays; grandfather of Maria, Olivia, Jason, Staci and Jamie; also survived by one sister. A memorial service was held at the Lancaster Presbyterian Church, 5461 Broadway, Lancaster, Thursday morning. No prior visitation. Arrangements by Wendel & Loecher, Inc.
