Arthur Brese of Hamburg died Dec.18.

He was the husband of Leslie (nee Fischer); father of Brad (Lori), Ronald (Melanie), Daniel and Jill Brese and Stephen and Troy (Ruth) Davis; brother of Richard (Donna) and Kenneth (Shirley) Brese and the late Catherine Meissner; also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation and a funeral service were held from the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home Inc.

Joanne Engler

Joanne Engler, 81, of Riverview, Fla., formerly of Angola, died Dec. 4.

Prior to retiring to Florida, she and her husband lived and raised their family in Angola.

She was the wife of the late Robert Engler; mother of David (Tracie) Engler and Carol (Peter) Pickul.

A memorial service will be held in early summer, at the Forest Avenue Cemetery in Angola.

Lawrence Catalano of Lake View died Jan. 1.

He was the fiancé of Deborah Reagle; brother of Linda (late Wayne) Cross and Robert Catalano; also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation and a funeral service were held from the Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home Inc.

Michael Cosenza

Michael Cosenza, 46, of Angola died on Dec. 26, after an illness.

He was the husband of Dawn (nee Carpentieri) Cosenza; father of Zachary, Janel and Angelina Cosenza; brother of Daniel (Wendy) Cosenza, David (Barbara) Cosenza, Carolyn Cosenza, Marlene (Daniel) Merecki and Jean (Randy Jazembak) Cosenza; son of the late Michael and Diane Cosenza; grandson of Evelyn Scherff; brother-in-law of Dina (Darren) Bell and Daniel Carpentieri; son-in-law of Daniel Carpentieri; also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Dec. 28 from the Addison Funeral Home of Angola.

Virginia Leard

Virginia (nee Nowak) Leard, 71, of Hamburg died Jan. 3.

She was a retired clerk from Tops Friendly Markets in Hamburg.

She was the mother of Margaret (Robert) Giardini, William Leard, Joanne Leard, Michael Leard and Barbara (Kevin) Freeman; grandmother of Andrew, Nicole, Danielle and Alexandria; sister of Elaine (Joseph) Tomaka, Donna (Ivan) Bissell, Theresa (Samuel) Taub and the late John (late Christine) and Thomas (late Mary) Nowak.

Visitation was held from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home’s Hamburg Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial was held from Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Athol Springs.

Vincent Marrano of Angola died Dec. 24.

He was the father of Alyssa Marrano; son of Paul Marrano Sr. and Anita Spader; brother of Paul (Sonia) Jr., Carol (Darryl) Jump and Carmen (Renée) Marrano; companion of Dawn Filson; stepfather of Benjamin Carter and Crystal Filson; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

William McAllister

William McAllister, 61, of Hamburg died Jan. 3.

He was a veterinary technician at the VA Medical Center and was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was the husband of Sheila (nee Fries); son of the late Walter and Elizabeth McAllister; brother of Elizabeth (late John) Kissel, Robert, Gerald, John (Susan) and Anne McAllister and Amy (Thomas) Naber; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Jan. 6 from Saints Peter & Paul Church, with visitation at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home Inc.

Anita Trinkley

Anita Trinkley, 79, of Baldwinsville, formerly of Hamburg, died Dec. 29 at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in Johnstown, Pa. and lived in Hamburg for 45 years, before moving to Baldwinsville nine years ago.

She was a communicant of Saint Peter & Paul’s Church of Hamburg and Saint Augustine’s Church in Baldwinsville.

She was the wife of the late Patrick; mother of Patrick Trinkley of Eden and Joyce Trinkley-Wolfson; mother-in-law of Michael Wolfson of Baldwinsville; grandmother of Christian Trinkley, Michelle, John and Elizabeth Wolfson; sister of George (Nancy) Clark of San Antonio, Texas; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jeanette (nee Weber) Mugle of Hamburg died Dec. 28.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 1419 and the Buffalo Schwaben Verein.

She was the wife of the late Helmut Mugle; mother of Paula (James) Tanis; grandmother of Jordana (Daniel) Bryan; great-grandmother of Jamison; sister of Diane (Andrew) Dryja.

Ernes Oberholzer of Hamburg died Dec. 26.

He was the husband of the late Lorraine (nee Smith); father of Bonnie (Dennis) Fabin and Linda (John) Mosley; also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was the wife of the late Harold; mother of William Shephard, Robert (Sharon) Shephard, Cynthia (James) Monaghan, Paul (Amy) Shephard, Margaret (Ronald) Russell and Jamie Shephard; sister of Roderick (Joyce) Gillis, Margaret (late Paul) Hoffman, the late Bertha (late Frank) Draggert and the late Edward and Dorothy Gillis; also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was held from Immaculate Conception Church of Eden.
