Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2 from the Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home in Hamburg for Donald J. “Duke” Spittler of Lake View, who died on Monday, August 30, 2010.
Husband of the late Anne Homen Spittler, he is survived by his children, George, Gail (Craig) Rose, Donald Jr. (Barbara Perez) and David Spittler; grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Amy, Laura, Josie and Teresa; great-grandchildren, Max and Brenden; and nieces and nephews.

Michael Corsi
Prayer services will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3 from Addison Funeral Home for Michael L. Corsi of Angola, who died on Saturday, August 28, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bugman Corsi; daughter, Melissa Corsi; siblings, Robert J. (late Sharon) Corsi and Caryn (late Michael) Stankewich; and nieces and nephews.
He was a Vietnam War veteran and an avid NASCAR fan.
Mary Salemi
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday (Aug. 30) from SS. Peter and Paul Church in Hamburg for Mary M. Salemi of Hamburg, who died on Friday, August 27, 2010.
She is survived by her children, Dianne (Tom) Mellenger, Noreen (Bud) Groundwater and Sharon (Don) Eich; companion, Bill Flierl; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Nicholas J. Losi and Pat Salemi.

Charles Hixon
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday (Aug. 23) from the Immaculate Conception Church in Eden for Charles W. Hixon, 74, of Eden, who died on Saturday, August 21, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Lucia T. (LaPaglia) Hixon; children, Grace (David) Yingling and Angela (Jack) Rigley; sister, Carole (Gene) Dunn; grandchildren, Elaine (David) Gullo, Angel Yingling, Laura (Matthew) Frank, John and James Rigley; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Liam Gullo.
He was predeceased by his parents, Carl Hixon and Mildred (Griffith) Park; and his sister, Beatrice Vrentas.
Hixon performed for 18 years in the Immaculate Conception Church program, “The Witness.”
He was a member of the Buffalo Chorus, Queen City Chordsmen. Hew was also active in two quartets known as In Accordance and The Greeting Chords.
Hixon served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era.
Hixon was interred in the Eden Evergreen Cemetery.

Scott Oldin
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 4 at noon from the Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home for Scott Bradley Oldin, 49, of Evans City, Pa., formerly of Lake View, who died on Monday, August 23, 2010.
He is survived by his companion, Candace J. Zahren; children, Danielle (Pat) McFeely and Christopher Oldin; sister, Michelle (William) Simet; granddaughter, Abby McFeely; and a nephew and niece, Justin and Kelsey Simet.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jenks and Lynne (Johnson) Oldin.
Oldin had been a mechanical engineer for Herr-Voss Stamco since 1992.
He loved woodworking and reading. His sarcastic wit was second to none.
Oldin will be interred in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Claude Covert
A Memorial Service was held on Monday (Aug. 30) from the Scranton Volunteer Fire Hall in Hamburg for Claude R. Jr. of Hamburg, who died on Thursday, August 26, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Claire); children, Richard (Brenda), Wayne (Julie), Cheryl (Frank), Ardus, Kurt (Carol) and Bruce (Patricia); siblings, Edwin, Kenneth and Barbara (Ronald) Henfling; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Claude and Verona Covert; and nine siblings.
Covert was an army veteran and a devoted life member of the Scranton Volunteer Fire Company for 20 years.

Helen Wellenzohn
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday (Aug. 30) from Our Mother of Good Counsel Church for Helen E. Wellenzohn of Blasdell, who died on Thursday, August 26, 2010.
She is survived by her siblings, Pauline (late Alois) Langes and Elizabeth (Joseph) Robinson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Louise Wellenzohn; and siblings, Johanna (late Constantine) Gugliuzza, Anton (Helen) Wellenzohn, Mary Ann (late Bud) Hillman and Henry Wellenzohn.
She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 1311.
She was interred in St. Vincent’s Cemetery and arrangements were made through the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home.
George Kelly
Graveside services were held on Saturday (Aug. 28) from the Hillcrest Cemetery in Hamburg for George W. Kelly, 98, of Hamburg, formerly of Port Allegany and Coraopolis, Pa., who died on Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
He is survived by his children, George A. (Mary Ann) Kelly and Jane L. (Jerry) Schmidt; grandchildren, Mike Schmidt, Kathy and Traci Kelly; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lucille; parents, Thomas J. and Bertha (Goss) Kelly; grandson, Robert Kelly; siblings, Tom, David, Mildred and William Kelly, Bertha McElhany, Agnes Fox and Isabelle Green.
He was in sales and management with Snap-On Tools, Inc. for several years before retiring.
Kelly was a member of the Hamburg United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows of Coraopolis, Pa., the National Rifle Association and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Arrangements were made through the Switzer Funeral Home in Pennsylvania.
Jan Renaldo
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday (Aug. 28) from Holy Spirit Church in North Collins for Jan M. Renaldo, 50, of North Collins, who died on Tuesday, August 24, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Antonette (Loretto) Renaldo; children, Jan Elizabeth and Chelsea Renaldo; parents, James and Joan (Kunderman) Renaldo; mother-in-law, Shirley (late Vitus “Ike”) Loretto; siblings, James, Jeffrey (Kathleen) and Jon (Paulette) Renaldo; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Renaldo was interred at Holy Spirit Cemetery in North Collins. Arrangements were made through the Wentland Funeral Home.
Thomas Grabecki
Funeral services were held on Monday (Aug. 30) from the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home for Thomas E. Grabecki, 63, of Hamburg, who died on Friday, August 27, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Nicholson) Grabecki; children, Katherine and Thomas A. Grabecki; brother, Michael (Lynn) Grabecki; and nieces and nephews, Brian, Lisa and Laura.
Grabecki was an inspector at the Ford Stamping Plant.
He was an avid model railroader and he belonged to the Gowanda-Buffalo Model Railroad Club.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Post No. 527.
Grabecki was interred at Prospect Lawn Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine R. (Nachtigall) Goetz; children, Joann (Raouf) Barragan, John (Vallerie) Goetz, Wendy Galfo, Michael (Nancy) Goetz and David Goetz; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Helen Koshes, Katherine Waseleski and John Goetz.

Mary Leard
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday (Aug. 31) from St. Francis of Assisi Church for Mary C. (Willax) Leard of Hamburg, who died on Friday, August 27, 2010.
She is survived by her son, William A. (Collette) Leard; former daughter-in-law, Virginia Leard; grandchildren, Margaret (Robert) Giardini, William, Joanne, Michael and Barbara (Kevin) Freeman; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Nicole, Danielle and Alex.
She was predeceased by her husband, William “Art” Leard; and sister, Lois Willax.
Leard was interred in Lakeside Memorial Cemetery.
