HAMBURG — Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard reported the arrest of a town of Hamburg man on Feb. 3, for felony driving while intoxicated.
Deputy Bradford Ballantyne located a vehicle, operated by Frank Richards, 38, after receiving a report that Richards had been involved in a disturbance on Feddick Road in the town of Boston and had left the scene, before the patrol arrived.
It was also reported to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office that Richards had been drinking. Upon further investigation, Ballantyne found Richards to be intoxicated and placed the subject in custody.
Richards was taken to the Erie County Sheriff’s North Collins substation and submitted to a chemical breath test. The results revealed that the subject had a blood alcohol content of .11 percent. Due to Richards’ having a prior conviction from 2007, the suspect was charged with felony DWI. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center, pending arraignment in the town of Boston Court, at a later date.
