LANCASTER- Nov. 3

Driving with Suspended Registration

At approximately 10:35 a.m., patrol was stationary in the median on Transit Road near Genesee Street while operating the mobile plate reader. The reader alerted to a 2000 Plymouth which was traveling north on Transit Road, indicating that the registration was suspended.

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) indicated that the registration was suspended on Aug. 19, 2011 for parking violations. Patrol initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver, 21, of Buffalo. The DMV indicated that the driverís New York State driverís license was suspended on Oct. 23 for insurance not in effect. The driver had no valid proof of insurance for the vehicle and gave patrol an expired insurance card.

The driver was issued tickets for driving with a suspended registration, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. She is scheduled to appear in town court Dec. 4.

The driver was released and a friend responded to the scene to drive her home.

Nov. 4

Petit Larceny

At 2:50 p.m., a Transit Road resident reported that the two vehicles were entered and a Tom Tom GPS Unit, valued at $50; and an Ipod, valued at $200, was stolen. The complainant stated that the two vehicles were parked in the parking lot of their apartment building.

Both complainants stated they left their vehicles unlocked.

Nov. 5

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle

At 10:37 p.m., patrol observed a gray Hyundai parked behind Protocol Restaurant on Transit Road for several minutes.

The vehicle then pulled onto Transit Road, failing to signal its turn. Patrol initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on the on ramp to the I-90 from Transit Road and the vehicle stopped. A license check of the operator, Steven A. McLaughlin, 27, of Tonawanda, revealed his license status to be suspended and also a warrant out of Amherst.

McLaughlin was released on a ticket for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and then turned over the Amherst Police Department.

Nov. 9

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle

At 1:47 a.m., patrol was conducting an area check of Motel Six and observed a 2003 Kia Sorrento exit the lot and travel west on Freeman Drive. The vehicle was in violation of an equipment violation-no/inadequate plate lamp and operating a motor vehicle with obstructed vision. Patrol conducted a traffic stop.

Upon making contact with the subject, Sara L. Lashomb, 24, of Rochester, and the other passengers in the vehicle, patrol observed a handle of a machete between the driverís seat and center console of the vehicle.

Patrol secured the weapon and requested a female officer at that the scene. A license check of Lashomb revealed: permit only/suspended (five SCOFFS on five dates) for failure to answer/pay fine, Monroe County, N.Y. Lashomb was taken into custody and transported to the station.

She was issued tickets for the violations and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. She was released on $200 bail.
