Hug your Hamburg Library
Thursday June 20, 2013 | By:The Sun Staff |
Sometimes you just feel like giving the library a great big hug. Maybe you found that unusual book or film sitting on the library shelf, just waiting for you. Maybe you were able to renew that fantastic book that you just had not finished yet.
On Thursday, June 20 at 6 pm, you will have an actual opportunity to give the Hamburg Public Library a great big hug. This event, sponsored by the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library and the Librarians Association, will be a lively affair and you are invited to attend. The Daughters of Creative Sound, a group of lively ladies from Buffalo, will demonstrate both their drumming styles and their professional storytelling talents.
After this, everyone will go outside the library, and give the library the hug.
“We have a lot to like about our libraries,” said Jack Edson, Director of the Hamburg Public Library. This year, the library will start a two-year expansion project that will increase the size of the building by about 50%. “This program is called ‘Hug Your Library Today, so it is here tomorrow’ and we are starting this expansion project to be sure our library is an important destination for people way into the future.”
Similar events are being held at other Buffalo and Erie County Public Library libraries throughout Erie County. Please contact your branch library for a schedule.
