The fourth annual Mike Trzepacz Motorcycle Run and Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 25.
Mike Trzepacz was a life member of the Lake View Volunteer Fire Department, who died on May 29, 2009 as the result of a motorcycle accident a week earlier.
Trzepacz held several postitions in the fire department, including assistant chief and fire commissioner. His passion was in the technical aspects of specialty rescue operations. Trzepacz was the team leader for Lake View’s High Angle Rope Rescue Team.
The first run was held Memorial Day weekend 2010, with riders traveling across southern Erie County, stopping at places Trzepacz frequented.
The first run was successful, and raised money for the purchase of specialty rescue equipment for the Lake View Fire Department.
Recipients of the money raised this year will be the Lake View Fire Department, Eden Central School Chopper Class and Mercy Flight.
Registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Lakeshore Fire Department on the corner of Route 5 and Rogers Road. Riders are $25 each, and $10 for passengers. Registration includes a commemorative pin, dinner and music at the end of the run. Beverages will be available.
The ride will be a 91-mile, police escorted run through the Southern Tier with stops along the way for food and refreshments. The run will end at the Lake View Fire Department and will feature music by Strange Addiction, 50/50 raffles, prizes and a Chinese auction.
