Megan McCuen, a senior at Frontier High School, was recently selected for the 2013 Albright Knox Young Curators Program.
Applications were received from across Western New York, and only 14 area students were chosen.
The young curators have spent each Thursday after school since January at the gallery, where they are learning every aspect of being a curator first-hand. The culmination of the program is an exhibit of student artwork titled “Introspection Interaction,” which opened on May 2 and runs through June 16.
McCuen, who has always been interested in art, thanks her art teachers at Frontier High School for their guidance and encouragement along the way.
McCuen is attending SUNY Fredonia in the fall as an art history major. She would like to build off of her experiences as a young curator to someday work in an art museum.
