For the past four years, Samantha Bennett (pictured), a freshman at Hamburg high School, has worked with her family to collect items from other families for a yard sale and Chinese auction she hosts for the kids of Carly’s Club at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Last year, Bennett and her family raised $11,800, giving them a four year total of $26,000. The goal this year is to surpass $12,000.
Carly’s Club has used the money for mother-daughter makeovers, Jim Kelly football camp and many other activities for the children.
For those interested in donating yard sale items or to donate a basket for the Chinese auction, call or text Michelle at 480-2456.
The sale will be held on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 4989 Armor Drive. The Schwan’s food truck will be at the sale, and will donate 20 percent of sales made to the fundraiser.
