The Hamburg Bites Progressive Dinner returns on Thursday, May 16, offering 11 different restaurants to choose from.
This is the fourth installment of the dinner, which began two years ago around Halloween. The dinner started as a way to get people out in the Village of Hamburg, said owner of Comfort Zone Cafe and Hamburg Bites organizer Cindy Barrett.
“The Village Business Advisory Council was trying to come up with different events,” she said. “It’s walkable and we picked Thursday night because it’s not on a weekend when you already see people out.”
For $25, the event offers appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks, which can be had at any of the participating restaurants. For instance, participants can have an appetizer at Buffalo Street Grill, an entree at Coyote Cafe, dessert at Main Street Ice Cream and a drink at Ten Thousand Vines Winery. It’s an opportunity for people to try different things, Barrett said.
“It gets people into different restaurants they may not have tried without committing to a full meal,” she said.
The event has grown in popularity, Barrett said. It’s a good way to get out for a night.
“People come out in groups,” she said. “It’s fun to do with a lot of people.”
Tickets for the dinner are pre-sale only, and available at Comfort Zone Cafe or Main Street Ice Cream until May 15. The menu is available at Facebook.com/HamburgBites
. The dinner runs from 5 to 9:30 p.m.
Barrett would love to see the dinner bring in people from around Western New York, she said.
“It’s the feel of the night,” she said. “People are so excited as they move through the different venues.”
