Thursday February 28, 2013 | By:Sun Staff |
This adaptation of the well-known Disney feature film tells the story of Ariel, a mermaid longing for a life out of the ocean. Ariel’s dreams are magnified when she saves Prince Eric, whose ship sinks in a storm.
Desperate to join his world, Ariel goes against her father’s wishes and seeks out the counsel of Ursula, a sea witch. Ursula turns Ariel into a human in exchange for Ariel’s voice. With the help of her friends Flounder, Sebastian, and Scuttle, Ariel tries to win the prince’s heart and become human forever. The fifth and sixth grade chorus will have you singing in your seats to songs like “Under the Sea,” “Poor Unfortunate Soul,” and “Part of Your World.” This show not only provides plenty of laughs, but also will amaze you as the cast and chorus bring the ocean to life right before your very eyes. Starting at 7:30 p.m. each night, the show runs March 21, March 22 and March 23 in the Elementary School Auditorium. Tickets will be available starting March 11 for the general public. Ticket forms will be available on the Elementary School home page.
