Beer tent, live music, rides and Chiavetta’s? St. Mary’s of the Lake’s Lawn Fete returns, after a seven year hiatus, this weekend from Friday to Sunday.
The fete was discontinued due to lack of a sufficient amount of volunteers.
“I think it had run it’s course,” said Kris Hider, principal of St. Mary’s. Hider is excited for the return of the event and all that it has to offer. “I think a lot of people are excited about bringing it back.”
The lawn fete will be a three day excursion of festivities. There will be a beer tent and live music each day.
Friday, the Heard of Buffalo will perform from 7 - 11 p.m.
Saturday Panfil Brothers will perform from 1 -4 p.m. and South City from 7 - 11 p.m.
On Sunday, the final day of the fete, Geno MacManus will perform from 2 -5 p.m.
The famous Chiavetta’s Chicken Barbeque will be sold on Sunday from noon - 4 p.m. or until it is sold out.
There will be casino gambling games for the older crowd and plenty of crafts and games for the children.
“It is a great community builder,” said Hider. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
“We’re praying for a wonderful dry weekend,” said Hider.
A little rain will not hinder the fete from it’s fun. Everything will be under tents so the entertainment will go on, rain or shine.
The event will run as follows:
Friday, June 21: 6 -11 p.m.
Saturday, June 22: 12-11 p.m.
Sunday, June 23: 12-6 p.m.
