‘Big Toys, Trucks & Bikes’ day at Penn-Dixie

The 9th Annual “Big Toys, Trucks & Bikes” fundraiser will be held at the Penn Dixie Paleontological and Outdoor Education Center in Hamburg on Sunday, June 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Come and sit in the driver’s seat of your favorite “big toy” and bring your camera. Vehicles that will interest children 2 to 102 will be on site, along with telescopes for viewing sunspots and solar flares, fossil collecting – keep all the fossils you find, toy raffle and two $200 gas card winners will be drawn at 3 PM, and a food vendor will be available.
The increased program will have a family fun-filled day of special events for children and their families with: Beaver meadow Nature Preserve with live animals from 11 PM to 4 PM, the Upstate
Research Rocketry Group, Inc. will have a variety of rockets on display, including 20-ft. rocket and will have several rocket launches during the event; the Hamburg YES organization doing face painting, fossil and rock identification will be available, Past and Present Rock Shop will be selling fossils and other items; and more.

• Blasdell Volunteer Fire Department vehicle
• Scranton Volunteer Fire Department Antique Fire Truck
• Rural Metro ambulance
• Earth Dimension vehicle
• Construction vehicles
• Town of Hamburg Police cruiser, water rescue boat, and SWAT vehicle
• Fisher Bus school bus
• Prius vehicle
• SJB Services equipment and more
This fun-filled family event is to help raise funds for the programs, events, and operations of the Penn Dixie Site.
Toy and gas card raffle tickets will be sold during the day of the event and the drawings will be at 3 PM. Winners do not have to be present.
There will be two winners of the $200 gas cards. Toys for girls and boys have been donated for the toy raffle. Have the kids photographed with their favorite vehicle.
The public is invited. adults $7, children $6; children 2 and under & Penn Dixie members are free. No Pre-registrations required.
The program will run rain or shine. Penn Dixie is looking for new and different vehicles for this event and toys for the raffle.
