Immaculata gets back to winning ways

The return of sophomore Jordan Heinold helped spark the Immaculata girls basketball team to a second win in as many nights, 49 – 46 against CCA, on Jan. 25.

Heinold, who missed the past five games, in which the Bears went 1 – 4, due to an injury, finished with 23 points and 18 rebounds in her return. The Bears improved to 8 – 7, having beat Niagara Catholic the day prior.

Immaculata’s non-league game at rival Hamburg on Tuesday was postponed due to inclement weather. The Bears are next slated to host Eden on Saturday, Feb. 1. The Raiders missed a chance to move into a first-place tie in ECIC Division IV, falling at home to Tonawanda 52 – 43 on Jan. 24.
