AWARD WINNER — Frontier senior Mathew Kinn holds his trophy awarded to him as a Dexter/USBC High School All-American.
In addition to helping the Frontier High school boys bowling team win a Section VI title and compete in state competition last spring, the Falcons’ Matthew Kinn earned a national honor in the sport.
Kinn, now a senior, won the Dexter/USBC High School All-American scholarship, becoming one of only five males and females out of the thousands who applied to garner the honor. He was presented the award May 30 at the North Pointe Junior Golf Championship held in Detroit.
Last spring, Kinn bowled Frontier’s high-game with a 280 and finished second on the team in average. He also recorded the high game, high average and high set as a member of the Brierwood Youth League. He is an Honor Society student, a member of the Foreign Honor Society and was nominated for the Boys State Program.
He received a $1,000 scholarship as part of the All-American honor. To be eligible, student-athletes were recommended by a coach and/or athletic director and must maintain a 3.0 grade point average or above.
