The Hamburg Gymnastic Club’s Level 6 team completed a successful season at the State Championships over the weekend (May 4-5). The team was led by Hannah Cialone, who finished first in the all-around with a 37.15. Cialone also placed second on beam (9.2) and floor (9.675).
Teammate Mayson Phillips finished second on vault (9.35), third on floor (9.6), and fourth in the all-around (36.15). In addition, Rebecca Knighton placed fifth overall (36.2), along with sixth place on the bars (9.325). Carissa Jantzi captured the bronze medal on floor with a 9.3. Jillian Murzynski captured fourth on bars (8.8) and fifth on beam (9.2). Alexa Wicher scored a season-high on bars (8.625), good enough for seventh place and Meaghan Doyle also scored a season-high on bars (9.1) in her age division.
Also for the Hamburg Gymnastic Club, Michaela Kacmarski and Emilee Chiavetta completed their season at the Level 8 Regional Championship on April 27-28 in Burlington, Mass. Kacmarski is the Level 8 Regional All-Star (13-14 ages) all-around champion with a score of 36.775. She also captured first on the beam (9.375), second on vault (9.3) and fourth on the bars (9.025).Chiavetta also completed a successful season, scoring a season high on vault (9.125) and finished with a 35.225 in the all-around.
In addition, Alyssa Gardner completed her a successful season during her first year at Level 9 at the 2013 Eastern National Championships on May 3 in Battlecreek, Mich. Gardner recorded the second highest score for her regional team with a 9.35. She finished the meet with a 35.95 in the all-around.
