Locals help OP hoops team win title

HARDCOURT CHAMPIONS — The team includes Archie Bartolotti, who’s kneeling, and from left: Jordan Prince, Dylan Crowley, Brendan Kearns, Brian Norsen, Noah Denz, Peyton Kellner, Cole Margerum, and Josh McTigue.
The Orchard Park Boys and Girls Club seventh grade travel team won the 14th annual Peg Smith Memorial Basketball Tournament held Dec. 14 – 15 in Dunkirk.

The team defeated Fredonia in the championship game, 36 – 33. Joshua McTigue was awarded the Tournament Most Valuable Player Award honor, while Archie Bartolotti of Hamburg was selected to the all-tournament team. The team is coached by Paul McTigue.

Bartolotti, who lives in Hamburg, is an Orchard Park Middle School student, and McTigue is a West Seneca resident who attends Orchard Park Middle School. Also on the team are Jordan Prince, OPMS/Orchard Park, Dylan Crowley, Hamburg MS/Eden, Brendan Kearns, OPMS/Orchard Park, Brian Norsen, Frontier MS/Hamburg, Noah Denz, St. Vincent’s/East Aurora, Peyton Kellner, St. Peter and Paul/Eden, and Cole Margerum, Hamburg MS/Hamburg.
