Western lacrosse squad, Frontier’s May take fourth at Empire Cup

Central topped Western 15 – 6 in the Bronze Medal game of the Empire State Cup in Syracuse. Andrew Potter and Matthew Bennett scored four goals for Central. Ryan Cook contributed a goal and two assists for Central and finished with a tournament-leading 32 points, including 19 goals.
Davis Prince scored once and assisted on two, to lead the Western squad, during the loss. He led the team with 10 goals in the tournament and was second overall with 20 points.
Also on the Western team was defender Brandon May, a Lake View resident who’s a rising junior at Frontier High School. The Western squad won three of seven games in the tournament. New York City downed Long Island 4 – 2, to repeat as cup champion.
