O.P. Gymsters, Czarcinski take home state titles

CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM — The Level 4 championship team included, Ari Turner, Hannah Miterko, Kaitlyn Bickley, Madison Connors of Lakeview, Kelsey Kohl, Kelsey Sainsbury, Lauren Kimball, Emily Winter, Jillian Hartman and Jordan Courtney.

The Orchard Park Gymsters gymnastics teams didn’t just win one state title on Jan. 25 – 26 at the Early Season State Championships in Utica; the program pulled off two. The weekend started with the Level 5 team nailing its routines and winning the first-place banner, finishing with the Level 4 squad’s also nailing routine after routine and coming away with its own first-place banner. In between, the levels 3 and 2 teams also enjoyed solid meets, coming in second and third, respectively.
STATE CHAMP — Cali Czarcinski won the state championship in the Level 5 all-around competition.

Among the two Orchard Park Gymsters to be crowned state all-around champion was Level 5’s Cali Czarcinski, a 10-year-old from Blasdell. Orchard Park Gymsters were also crowned state champions on individual events. They included, at Level 4, Emily Winter of North Collins, on beam, and Czarcinski, on vault and floor. Among those taking Silver medals were, at Level 4, Czarcinski, on beam, and Winter, on floor and all-around. Bronze medalists included, at Level 4, Lea Philarom of Lakeview, for all-around. Jenna Blair of Hamburg was a contributor for the Level 5 championship-winning squad.
