Trinity Episcopal outing Sept. 14
Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 261 East Main St. in Hamburg, will host a golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Concord Crest Golf Course on Genesee Road in East Concord. The outing will feature a scramble format with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, dinner and a gift bag. Mount Mercy Academy Tourney Sept. 21
Mount Mercy Academy will be hosting a golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Diamond Hawk Golf Course to benefit the athletic department. Entry includes green fees, cart, lunch and dinner. There will be raffles, prizes and a basket auction. Dinner-only tickets are also available. Check-in will begin at 10:30 a.m. and golfing will start at noon. Hamburg Chamber to host event Sept. 23
The 29th annual Hamburg Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, Sept. 23 at Brierwood Country Club in Hamburg. Check-in and lunch will be from 11 a.m. – noon, with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and steak dinner and program beginning at 6. HMGC four-man championship results
The quartet of Mike Gallerani, Nick White, Mike Zelaski and Mike Cantuza set a record with a team net score of 120, to claim top honors in the annual Hamburg Men’s Golf Club’s Four-Man Championship. Six strokes back in second was last year’s winning group of Jeff Cervoni, Mark DiPasquale, Mike Linn and Bob Bleech. Elsewhere, the Buffalo Tournament Club was the venue where a handful of tandems from the HMGC placed in the top third at the WNY Publinx Boyle Memorial two-man best ball championship. Ron Witt and Brian Teepell had the best showing with a 75, followed by Bill Gleason and Zelaski with a 76 and Rich Bartula and Ken Fierle (79). The next major event of the HMGC slate is the Fall Classic Championship on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Hamburg Men’s ‘65’ Golf Club champs
Top finishers from the Hamburg Men’s ‘65’ Golf Club’s Week 15 play, “Modified Scotch,” include, in Class A, Doug Cleveland and Joe Scott with a net of 56, followed by Bill Nelson and Paul Nelson (60), Mike McCarthy and Charley Brown (62) and Jake Ferro and Bob Wittowson (64); and in Class B, Pete Holler and Paul Colley with a net of 59, followed by Jim Benzinger and Jim Jackson (60), Forest Cassidy and Pete Pawlik (61) and Dick Mauer and Russ Bonfessuto (61).
Gowanda C.C. Ladies League results
Top finishers from the Gowanda Country Club Ladies League play on Aug. 14 were for low gross, Joyce Bigelow in the top spot with a 44, followed by Kim Geir (45) and Priscilla Graupman, Jan Parker and Lynn Gotsch (49); and for low net, Marilyn Schreiber in first with a 33, followed by Gail Kaney (36), Donna Colletta (37) and Tina Frascella and Dawn Zopp (39).
