Hilbert hosts AMCC menís basketball opener Tuesday

Hilbert College hosts an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference menís basketball quarterfinal game on Tuesday, Feb. 25, as the third-seeded Hawks take on No. 6 Pitt Greensburg. It will be the third straight season Hilbert hosts at least one playoff game. Last season, the Hawks brought the conference tournament to the Hamburg campus after garnering the top seed and its first regular season conference title.
Also on Tuesday, fifth-seeded La Roche College travels to No. 4 Pitt-Bradford. Defending champion and 2014 tournament host Penn State Behrend, the conferenceís regular season champion, and No. 2 Medaille each had byes. Semifinals will be played Friday, Feb. 28 with the final the next day.
On Feb. 23, the Hawks fell 74-72 to La Roche College in the final AMCC game of the regular season. Hilbert, which finished the season 19 Ė 6 overall and 13 Ė 5 in the AMCC, got 19 points from Jalen Smith, while Trevor Stark added 12 points and 7 assists and Nick Nadeau scored 13 points.
