Frontier junior Tom Stoklosa earned a Class A title in the 200 individual medley and is now the fastest swimmer in the event going into the Section VI Championships on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15-16 at Clarence. He led a contingent of successful Frontier swimmers at the Class A Championships on Feb. 9 at Maryvale.
Stoklosa leads Section VI swimmers in the event with a 2:00.77. He also placed third in the 100 freestyle with a 48.77, which qualified him for state championships on March 1-2 in Webster.
Also finishing in scoring position was his brother, senior John Stoklosa, who placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke and eighth in the 100 freestyle. Freshman Evan Graesser took 13th in the 100 freestyle and 16th in the 50 freestyle.
The relay team of the Stoklosas, Graesser and senior Mike Disare scored a third in the 400 freestyle relay, a race in which they were barely out touched by Clarence and Orchard Park for the top spot, and placed sixth in the 200 freestyle relay. All four will compete in this weekís sectional meet.
Also at the sectional class championships, Travis Wright brought the Class B diving title to Lake Shore
. He was joined as a place finisher in diving by Tyler Wodja and Lee Gaskin, who took third and fifth, respectively. David Dombrowski placed fifth in the backstroke and Fred Ball finished in the top ten in the 100 butterfly. Also winning a title for a local team was Eden
senior Jamie Miller, who was victorious in the Class C 100 freestyle in 49.35.
