HMGC award winners honored at banquet
The Hamburg Men’s Golf Club celebrated its season with its annual awards banquet at the American Legion Post 527 in Hamburg. Among those being honored were director’s cup champions Chris Jentsch, with a net of 270, in Class A; Dan Williams and Roger Flanders, each with a 266, in Class B; and Jim Milks (267) in Class C; and for Match Play, Dan Bracci in Class B and Stuart May in Class C. Club president Mike Zelaski and treasurer David Reeves hosted the event, which also included raffles, dinner and the presentation of trophies and plaques.
In the club’s Ace of Aces Tournament, the overall low gross title went to Brad Golda with a 70, which was five strokes better that the runner up. The top net flite was won by Dan Williams with a 63. Other divisional champions were Ray Suto, Bob Downey, Joe Buckwald, Roland Sadowski and Milks. Two season-long competitions were also completed recently with Zelaski repeating as the Presidents Cup champion after defeating Stuart May and Tim Rektorik shooting a net of 69 to outlast Jentsch (70) in the Final Four competition.

Top finishers from the Hamburg Men’s “65” Golf Club for Week 21 play, include in Class A, Doug Cleveland with a top net of 56, followed by Joe Scott (57), Jeff Smith (58) and Bob Newton (58); in Class B, Ed Seifert with a net of 53, followed by Russ Bonfessuto (53), Paul Kohlmeier (54) and Jim Banko (56); and in Class C, Jim Benzinger with a top net of 54, Mike Roche (55), Dave Howe (56) and Ed Hildebrand (56).
