Tennis festival for youth coming to Hamburg
Throughout March, the United States Tennis Association is hosting thousands of Tennis Festivals, designed to showcase the fun and excitement of playing tennis, as well as sharing with parents the benefits of involving their children in the sport. A variety of organizers including clubs, after-school programs, parks and recreation, Community Tennis Associations and others will host Tennis Festivals as part of the USTA’s effort to introduce tennis to parents and children throughout the country. The Town of Hamburg Recreation Department will host one of these Tennis Festivals on Thursday, March 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 2982 Lakeview Rd. in Hamburg. Peck, Quinn to speak at next Bills Booster meeting
The Buffalo Bills Booster Club Inc. will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, March 26 inside the Paul McGuire Suite at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Scheduled speakers will include Hamburg resident Paul Peck, who announced University at Buffalo football, and the Bulls’ head coach Jeff Quinn. Special Teams Academy holding kicking sessions
In preparation for next month’s Northeast Regional Showcase for kickers, punters and snappers from the Northeast U.S. and Canada, Sam Watts and his Special Teams Academy will be running kicking sessions for athletes ages 12-and-up on March 22 and 29 at the Bills Field House in Orchard Park. The sessions will go from 6-9 p.m. and are open to any interested participant. The showcase will then run Sunday, April 14 from noon to 6 p.m. with the help of two former NFL players. Among the instructors there will also be NFL hopeful Jake Schum, a graduate of Frontier High School and the University at Buffalo, who is a client of Watts. Gilding Stars to perform shows March 22-23
The annual Gliding Stars ice show will be held Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. at the Northtown Center in Amherst.
