Frontier seeks Wall of Fame nominations
The Frontier Central Athletic Department is accepting 2013 nominations for consideration for induction into the Athletic Wall of Fame, along with honorary members. Those selected will be inducted at the annual athletic awards program at the high school in June.
To have a Frontier graduate or honorary candidate considered for the Wall of Fame, forward the information, along with your name, address and phone number, to Richard Gray, Frontier Central High School, 4432 Bay View Road, Hamburg, New York 14075, by March 6. A one-page biography of the nominee must be included, along with the information from his or her college and other sports or community accomplishments.
The following is the criteria for a Wall of Fame candidate: a minimum of six years having graduated from Frontier High School; distinguished himself/herself in athletics/sportsmanship/citizenship at Frontier Central; distinguished himself/herself in athletics at the college/professional level; and through his or her professional career, has been a contributing citizen to the community and country.
An honorary member is one who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication and support of the school and who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the schools’ interscholastic athletic and/or intramural program. Criteria includes: a minimum of one year of termination of service at Frontier before being nominated; contributed to the Frontier Central interscholastic and/or intramural program as a coach, administrator or in another capacity; and through his or her professional career, has been a contributing citizen to the community and country.
Hamburg accepting Wall of Fame nominations
The nomination committee for the Hamburg Bulldog Wall of Fame will accept 2013 nominations until April 1, 2013. The program was started in September 2010 with a ceremony held by the Hamburg Alumni Foundation. Now also being honored, along with Sports Legends and Distinguished Alumni, are Distinguished Educators. Nominations will be accepted online at www.hamburgalumnifoundation.org. Next year’s event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013. Lake Shore seeks Wall of Fame nominations
Lake Shore Central School District has begun the process of selecting a new class for induction into the Wall of Fame. In 1992, Lake Shore developed the program for recognizing individuals who, after graduation, greatly contributed to the well being of society through their hard work, talents and leadership. Nominees must be a graduate of at least 15 years and may not currently be an employee of the Lake Shore Central School District.
If you know of any alumni who should be considered for this honor, provide a completed application by Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. Wall of Fame Nomination Forms can be downloaded online at http://www.lakeshore.wnyric.org. Each nominee will be reviewed by the district committee for possible induction. Individuals who are selected will be afforded a place on the “wall” with a picture and biographical information and are to give an address at this year’s Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Reception which is scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2013.
