Kyle Ingraham notched a hat trick to lead the Hamburg Monarchs 12-and-under boys soccer team to a 7-0 season-opening win over East Aurora Arsenal on April 29 at Hamburg’s Nike Base. Five different players got on the scoresheet as Gabe Masterangelo, Josh Kacalski, Jared Rasinski and Seth Heeter all added single markers.
Jonah Kozak’s cross in the first minute of play to the foot of Heeter for the opening goal was a harbinger of things to come. Will McGowan and Anthony Tuber controlled play in the midfield while Ryan Sutton, Matt Clifford, Alex Roth and Nick Sobczak played solid defense. Andrew Lauria and Isaiah O’Connor combined for the shutout as they shared keeper duties.
The Monarchs travel to South Buffalo for their next contest at Hillery Park. In other action, the U-12 Blue team lost a heartbreaker to the Delaware Soccer Club. Dylan Crowley scored a brace, while Andrew Loveless scored once for Hamburg.
