International Lacrosse: Domres helps Durham’s lacrosse domination continue

Durham’s men’s lacrosse team continued its domination of the BUCS Championship with a 21-2 win over Loughborough University. The County Durham-based university finished the game with nine different goal scorers and surged ahead 7-0 up in the opening 20 minutes.

Helping the team to its fourth consecutive British Commonwealth National championship was Hamburg native Jon Domres, who finished with a hat trick. Domres has been on scholarship at Durham University in England studying for a masters in International business and marketing, since graduating last year from Canisius College with a bachelor’s degree.

Last year, Domres was a member of a Canisius team that won the MAAC championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Domres can play with Team Durham, because there is unlimited eligibility there as long as the student-athlete attends school. Durham next plays exhibition games in Milan, Italy.
