Aurora Waldorf School’s seventh and eighth graders travelled to Toronto to compete in the 2013 Waldorf Invitational Basketball Tournament. This two-day event included A and B teams from AWS and three other Waldorf school throughout Ontario. Coached by Jason Friol, both girls and boys A teams, who consist of a number of students from Hamburg and Boston, made it to the championships. Pictured are a combination of the boys A team, which finished only a few points short of winning the championship, and the girls A team, which used teamwork to pull together for the championship game win. The B teams also put forth a great effort to make their games entertaining and show off their skill and teamwork during the games. Coach Friol noted that the students learned the importance of sportsmanship and the respect the team can earn while conducting themselves well during and after games throughout the year and at the tournament.
