Gleason wins Buffalo District Senior net title
Representing the Hamburg Menís Golf Club, Bill Gleason posted a net score of 67, to win the elite BDGA Senior net tournament among a field of 58 golfers at the Gowanda Country Club. He shot a 79 (-12). Among other HMGC linksters placing were Ray Suto with a net of 71, finishing atop the super-seniors division, while Bob Downey (71) and Brian Williams (72) both were runner-ups in their respective flites.
Coleman wins division at WNY Senior PGA event
Jerry Coleman of Dickís Sporting Goods in Blasdell won the Super Senior Division by nine strokes, posting 148, at the WNY Senior PGA Professional Championship on Sept. 12-13 at Lawrence Park Golf Course in Erie, Pa.
Hamburg Womenís Golf Club results
Top finishers from the Hamburg Womenís Golf Clubís final tournament of the season, Consolation, on Sept. 19 were Sharon Rybarczyk and Pat Greiner in Class A-1; Gwen Green and Chris Scozzaro in Class B-1; Elsie Kelly and Karen Felser in Class C-1; and Marie Moscato and Florence OíConnor in Class D-1.
Balbierz win title at Junior Invitational
Molly Balbierz of Hamburg won the girls overall championship at the Junior Invitational on Sept. 22 at the Locust Hill Country Club in Rochestet. Also a member of the Frontier golf team this fall, she posted the low score of 79. Also competing from Hamburg was Sarah Beckwith, who placed third in the 14 Ė 15 ages group, with a 91.
