Hamburg Bulldogs youth lacrosse clinics for girls accepting registration
The Hamburg Bulldogs Youth Lacrosse Clinic is accepting registration for three Saturday sessions (April 20, April 27 and May 11) for girls in grades 1-6, beginners through advanced. The clinics will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the conclusion of the girls modified and varsity lacrosse games on the turf field at Howe Field. The cost is $20 for one session or $50 for all three. Each registered participant will receive a pair of Hamburg Lacrosse shorts and learn from the Hamburg girls’ varsity lacrosse players and head varsity coach Katy Ryan, a former Division I women’s lacrosse player. To pre-register please checks payable to “Hamburg Girls Lacrosse” to Tom Ryan, 3649 Bonnie Lane, Hamburg, NY 14075. A waiver form must also be obtained and filled out and signed. Walk-ups will be accepted on the day of each clinic. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Sticks and goggles will be provided for those without them. Please bring your own mouthguard, water bottle and appropriate footware.
Introductory running program for youth starts April 30
The Town of Hamburg Recreation Department is introducing “Ready, Set, Run!,” a character-building running program that trains youth ages 8-13 to participate in a road race. The curriculum-based program equips kids with the physical training and goal-setting mentality needed to accomplish their running goals. It will be led by Scott Silverman, a former Hamburg High School varsity cross country and track athlete. The program will begin on Tuesday, April 30 and run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. through the end of July. The program cost is $50 and includes a Ready, Set, Run t-shirt, training manual and free entry into the Dash N’ Splash Family Fun Run on Saturday, July 27. Call 646-5145 for more information.
Town of Hamburg Recreation selling Bisons tickets
Baseball fans have an opportunity to purchase Buffalo Bisons tickets at a discounted rate while helping the Town of Hamburg Recreation Foundation raise funds to enhance recreation programs and facilities. The tickets, which may be purchased at the Recreation Office (Nike Base), 2982 Lakeview Road, Hamburg, cost just $8 apiece and vouchers are for reserved seating and good for the entire Buffalo Bisons season for any game with the exception of July 3. A portion of the purchase price of each ticket will benefit the 501c-3 charitable organization created to improve, expand and develop parks, athletic fields and recreational facilities in the community.
