The Lake Shore boys soccer team defeated visiting Amherst 2 – 0 on Sept. 19, after topping Cheektowaga 5 – 0 three days earlier. The Eagles improved to 5 – 3 overall and 3 – 2 in league play.
Sophomore A.J. Bergum scored both of the Eagles’ goals, with assists from Wade Bergum and Chris Beckley. Goalkeeper Bryce Parker-Parker earned the shutout. In the game prior, senior Kenny Pierce scored his team-leading fourth and fifth of the season. Senior captain Wade Bergum also scored twice, while A.J. Bergum tallied the Eagles’ other goal. Parker-Norton, a senior captain, again earned the shutout in goal.
