The U.S. Women’s National lacrosse team and its coaching staff will host youth player and coaching clinics, as well as play in an exhibition game, on Tuesday, July 10 at Hamburg High School’s Howe Field, in preparation for a summer tournament in Canada.
From 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Hamburg will be the Youth Player Clinic, featuring the entire U.S. Women’s National team, and the Coaching Clinic: Learn the Team USA Way. The players clinic for grades one through 8 and 9 through 12 will cost $65 and participants will receive a poster, T-shirt and other US Lacrosse and Team USA items. The coaches clinic, which will cost $55, is open to all men and women with topics to include team philosophy, chemistry and building, stick work, offense, defense, goalies, riding and fitness. It will be led by U.S. team head coach Ricky Fried, who also heads the program at Georgetown.
The exhibition game will begin at 5 p.m. and will be the last time the U.S. plays on American soil before heading to Canada to participate in the 2012 North American Challenge Cup. Admission is free but donations will be accepted. There will be a raffle at the game, as well. All proceeds go to the USA Women’s National Team.
