Hamburg\'s Max Maxwell, pictured here in the state semifinal, will get another chance to play in the Champion All-American Showcase.
Max Maxwell enjoyed one of the finest careers of any Hamburg High School lacrosse player over four years at the varsity level.
Before embarking on the next chapter playing for Division I UMBC, Maxwell has become one of only a select few to be nominated twice for the Champion All-American Showcase, sponsored by US Lacrosse.
This yearís premier showcase of the best high school lacrosse players will be held July 24-26 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Games begin Wednesday evening with the event concluding on Friday evening after the championship game, which will be broadcast live on ESPNU starting 7 p.m.
Maxwell, one of the 96 elite players from across the country to be playing in this event, just finished a senior season in which he once again led Hamburg in goals and helped the Bulldogs to a berth into the state finals. The middie scored 49 times during a 79-point season, despite missing four weeks due to injury.
Players are nominated and selected by high school coaches throughout the country to compete in this four-team format over three days of competition.
Each of the teams (Pride, Liberty, Freedom and Spirit) play three games in a round-robin format before the championship and consolation games are played on July 26. Each teams will play twice on Thursday after beginning play the evening of July 24.
