(March 1 Highlights)
Chiacchia-Fleming 44, Alliance Advisory Group 22
The opening round of the playoffs got underway on Saturday (March 1) with Chiacchia-Fleming doubling up on the Alliance Advisory Group. C-F took control of the game in the third quarter as they went on a 16-2 run. Mackenzie Muldowney led the charge as she scored 8 of her game-high 14 points in the third stanza. Jane Chiacchia gave a solid performance as she knocked down 12 points and dished out 6 assists, while Ashley Kaczmarski had four buckets. AAG was led by Marianna Alleca’s 7 points and 4 steals. Maddi Geniti gave a strong effort as she finished with 5 points and pulled down 7 rebounds and Grace Zuchlewski chipped in with 5 points.
Village of Hamburg Rec 33, JGB Enterprises 23
Emily Kwiatkowski’s 12 points, 4 assists and 3 steals helped propel the Village of Hamburg Rec past JGB. Emma Jauch played a key role in the victory as she netted 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds and Alyssa Lorka added 5 points. JGB, despite missing two starters, hung tough throughout, nehind balanced scoring from the trio of Morgan Propp, Abby Marean and Marnie Walters, each with 6 points. Kaylyn Wenzel gave a solid all-around performance for JGB in the loss.
Dick’s Sporting Goods 22, The Now Pizzeria 14
Dick’s Sports put forth a solid defensive effort to help them secure a victory. DSG got a 7-point and4-steal effort from Jordyn Doyle. Brianna Gray and Brooke Lasko split four buckets and Isabella Ventresca was lauded for her hustle and defensive effort. NP was led by Lauren Kennedy’s 7 points, Emily Applegate netted 3 points and 4 rebounds while Abby Hillery contributed with 2 points and 3 steals.
GT Junior Jackets 34, UAW 897 - Ford 16
The GT Jr. Jackets sprinted out of the gates with an 18-4 run in the first half to help them advance to the semifinals. The Jr. Jackets got a dominate performance from Hannah Sega, who knocked down 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Margaret Neureuter and Olivia Bunn had solid games as they finished with 4 points apiece and played well at both ends of the court. UAW Ford got a 10-point game from Lauren Tone who also grabbed 6 rebounds. Jordan Morreale recorded 4 points and 3 steals while Faye Habermehl gave a solid effort throughout the contest.
