Hamburg Hawks off to fast start

HAWKS TAKE SECOND — The Hamburg Hawks Pee Wee Major AA team took second in a tournament in Cleveland. The team included, from left, laying: Eli Dunkel and Noah Webster. The Hamburg Hawks Pee Wee Major AA team took second place in the Rock n’ Roll Cup Tournament on Sept. 13 – 15 in Cleveland. Eight teams competed in the tournament, which included two teams from Canada. The Hawks lost 4 – 2 in the final to the Ancaster Avalanche from Hamilton, Ontario.

The Hawks have several new members on the team this year and have come together in a short period of time, under the direction of head coach Jeff Sortisio. The Hawks went 3 – 2 in the five games they played and outscored opponents 17 – 14 for the weekend. The scoring was balanced and both goalies, NoahWebster and Eli Dunkel, played in net for the Hawks. The Hawks then returned home, to start their league schedule.
