The Hamburg Hawks Bantam Minor AA finished 4-0 in Cleveland, Ohio at the Mustangs Invitational Hockey Tournament the weekend of March 8-9. The team faced some tough competition, especially from the spirited and very physical Geauga Leafs team, which it beat twice, including 4-0 in the championship game.

During the first meeting of the two teams on March 8, the Hawks lost center, Jared Milley of Hamburg, to a broken arm, after he collided with an opposition player. Milley continued to support the team from the bench throughout the tournament, as the Hawks went undefeated, beating the Strongsville Mustangs 4-1, Geauga, 5-3, and the Elyria Panthers, 5-3, before the championship game shutout. Ten players contributed goals and 11 had assists.
